    Magnetic Particle Inspection Services

    Magnetic Particle Inspection Services

At MNB Precision, we use a variety of machines and techniques to provide the best quality Magnetic Particle Inspection services. Our processes are used to identify any surface and near-surface flaws that might be in different ferromagnetic materials. We also aim to identify cracks in the materials.

What is the Process of Magnetic Process Inspection?

The Magnetic Particle Inspection process is applicable to all metals that can be strongly magnetised. These include ferritic irons and steels. Generally, austenitic steels are not ideal for the process.

The Magnetic Particle Inspection procedure is relatively simple and effective. The work-piece being inspected is locally magnetised or overall. If the material does not have any flaws, the magnetic flux is largely contained within the material. The material is then covered in fine iron filings or it can be suspended in a liquid.

If there is a flaw no matter how narrow, the magnetic field is distorted.  This causes a leak of the magnetic flux around the crack or flaw. The area around the flaw is filled with a build-up of the fine iron particles. This can be easily seen even when the crack or flaw is very small.

    Wet Vs. Dry Inspection Methods

At MNB Precision, we use either wet or dry inspection methods to guarantee quality and reliable results for our clientele. In both processes, the material being inspected has to be electrically charged to create the magnetic field.

In a dry particle inspection, the particles are dusted on to the surface of the objected we are testing while it is being tested. Typically, we use the dry inspection method when detecting shallow subsurface cracks on rough surfaces.

Wet suspension Magnetic Particle Inspection testing involves the same process but, the particles are suspended in a liquid. This process is preferred when the flaws being detected are very small and the surface is very smooth.

We have a team of highly skilled experts who specialise in non-destructive testing methods including MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection). With our equipment and experience, we are able to guarantee accuracy and quality testing for our clients using non-destructive procedures.

With our intricate and refined procedures, our experts are able to determine the cause and origin of the indication of both near-surface and surface discontinuities. Our labs and inspection equipment is able to perform quality inspections for various types of ferrous metals, assembly and components.

    Why Choose Us?

Capacity – Our human and mechanical capacity allows us to work on both small and large projects. We are also able to work on different ferrous metal materials, assemblies and components. We are able to provide accuracy and identify different indications, causes and origins on both fine and rough surfaces.

Timely – We understand that the objects we are working on could be parts of a bigger project and that time is of the essence. We have the skill and machinery to complete projects even within the tightest deadlines without compromising the quality of our services of delivery.

Profound Experience – we have been offering non-destructive testing services for over 20 years. Our experts are fully aware of the steps and procedures required to take care of the test materials and guaranteeing the integrity of the components and assembly while conducting the tests and identifying the indications.
